Today we received the loveliest letter from a patient, which had all of us here in the office just floating on a cloud all day. So we decided to share it with you here. This is why we all do what we do at NISA. From the front reception team to the doctors and nursing staff, we are all committed to seeing this kind of patient outcome… every time!

I would like to say that everyone affiliated with NISA are outstanding people. For many categories, I am often the worst patient (because of a different set of challenges). But each time there are amazing people who help me achieve a potential I never imagined possible.

For example, I was so awful at physical therapy (I had become so disillusioned because my experiences at two other facilities were woefully inadequate). But Deborah Weiss never gave up hope on me. However, she was strict and demanding because she expected progress. Now, I utilize everything that she has taught me on a daily basis and I intend to be one of her success stories.

Although Alisa Young could not be my therapist, she was the catalyst in prompting me to seek a mental health professional (which I started seeing one in the beginning of January and my wife started seeing the same one last month). Now, a couple of days ago was our very first joint marriage counseling session. My wife and I have a long way to go but Alisa Young was that spark that ignited the entire process. Now that my depression is coming to an end (I started treatment for it in November) I intend to be one her success stories for Common Ground (when I can demonstrate that misery no longer dominates my path of life).

Interestingly, when I read your newsletter I was a bit awestruck because it was Kimberly who inspired me to seriously consider yoga (I never knew she was participating in the yoga program at NISA). At the end of my email I will attach a comment I posted in the MS Worlds Young Adults Forum about her.

So regardless of how many strikes I have against me, NISA and the people affiliated with it are amazing people. As a result, so much of my negativity is melting away.

Sincerely,
NISA Patient
